Sunderland made it two from two in the Europa League league phase with a 2-1 win over SCU Torreense in Leiria on Thursday night.
The Black Cats fell behind to a brilliant strike from centre back Volnei early in the game, but goals from Jules Ahoka and in stoppage time from Noah Saidki turned the game around.
Here’s how we rated all the Black Cats involved on the night...
9. CAM - Chris Rigg
Had some good moments early on and worked hard without really dominating as he’d have liked. Did well when moved out to the flank, with Mukiele overlapping. 6 | Chris Fryatt, Echo
10. RW - Nilson Angulo
Started brightly and put one excellent low cross in that should have been converted by a team mate. Worked hard again and had one header very well saved by the Torreense goalkeeper but Sunderland looked laboured in the final third. 5 | Getty Images
11. LW - Malick Fofana
One or two decent runs in the second half but is really struggling to make an impact at the moment. Not taking on his full back much and not seeing much of goal either. Will take time but Sunderland need more. 4 | Sunderland Echo, Chris Fryatt
12. ST - Timur Tutierov
Unlucky his goal was ruled out when Alderete was judged to have fouled at the front post. Worked hard and moved well at times, and thought he’d won a late penalty before a VAR review. Decent effort on his first start and especially given he usually operates on the wing. 6 | Chris Fryatt, Echo
