Sunderland have been promoted to the Premier League after a stunning comeback win against Sheffield United.
Eliezer Mayenda and Tommy Watson scored the goals as the Black Cats sealed their top-flight return after an eight-year absence. Here’s how we rated the Black Cats on a stunning day for the club...
9. Romaine Mundle
Big effort to start the game given his recent hamstring issues. Choudhury dominated the battle in the first half but Mundle threatened in the second, just unable to find that final moment. 5 | Phil Smith
10. Chris Rigg
Sunderland’s difficult start to the game meant he just wasn’t able to see much possession in advanced areas. Linked up better with Hume as the game went on but came off after an hour shortly after Blades felt he may have fouled in the box. 5 | Phil Smith Photo: Phil Smith
11. Eliezer Mayenda
Some trademark excellent runs through the first half. Came into the game when Isidor came on to occupy defenders, and took his goal stunningly well on his weaker foot. What a player. 8 | Phil Smith
