Sunderland have been promoted to the Premier League after a stunning comeback win against Sheffield United.
Eliezer Mayenda and Tommy Watson scored the goals as the Black Cats sealed their top-flight return after an eight-year absence. Here’s how we rated the Black Cats on a stunning day for the club...
5. Dan Ballard
Three outstanding performances in the play offs. Brilliant recovery pace and aerial ability time and time again. Stepped up on the ball in O’Nien’s absence. 8 | Phil Smith Photo: Phil Smith
6. Dan Neil - player rating photo by James Copley
Struggled to get on the ball early on. Improved as Sunderland started to build up better towards the end of the half, but some loose passes throughout. Looked really fatigued in the second half. 5 | Dan Neil - player rating photo by James Copley
7. Jobe Bellingham
Got through so much work through the second half in particular. Excellent and drove his team on through the closing stages. 8 | Phil Smith
8. Enzo Le Fee
Couldn’t get into the game but was then top drawer when he dropped deeper. Helped turned the tide. 7 | Phil Smith
