The stats experts at Opta predict where Sunderland will finish in the league phase of this season’s Europa League.

Sunderland will resume their Europa League campaign when they host Croatian double winners Dinamo Zagreb at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats have made a strong start to what is only their second ever European campaign by claiming seven points from a home game with AZ Alkmaar and away days at Portuguese side Torreense and Polish champions Lech Poznan. That means Regis Le Bris’s side are sitting just outside of the top eight in the Europa League table as they prepare to host a Dinamo side that have secured four points from their first three games against Hapoel Be-er Shava, Anderlecht and NEC.
