Sunderland reached the 40-point mark on Tuesday night as they landed a famous win at Elland Road.
An injury-hit squad spent much of the game defending their own box but Habib Diarra’s second-half penalty proved to the difference between the two teams.
Here’s how we rated all of the Black Cats involved on the night...

5. LB - Trai Hume
Had a near flawless game, doing exactly what his team needed him to do. Defended resolutely and looked after the ball really well, knowing exactly when to relieve pressure. Great performance out of position. 9 | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

6. CM - Lutsharel Geertruida
Brought some good energy to the base of midfield and made some important challenges in the first half. Brought off early in the second half as Xhaka came on, which was perhaps a slight surprise with O’Nien on a yellow at right back. Solid again having been moved out of position once more. 6 | Getty Images

7. CM - Noah Sadiki
A typically tenacious performance, breaking up the play well and putting in a huge amount of running. 7 | George Wood/Getty Images

8. CM - Habib Diarra
Made some strong runs beyond the defence and competed well, scoring his penalty even if he was a little fortunate given that Darlow made a good connection on the ball. 7 | Chris Fryatt
