Sunderland climbed off the foot of the Premier League table with a crucial win over Chelsea.
Enzo Le Fee’s first half penalty was the difference in a hard-fought game. Here’s how we rated all of the Black Cats involved on the day....
9. RW - Trai Hume
Set the tone for his team. Little bit of quality at times on the ball but set the tone in winning duels and pressing. Terrific. 9 | Sunderland Echo, Chris Fryatt
10. LW - Chemsdine Talbi
Really unlucky that a brilliant cross early on wasn’t turned home by Brobbey. A couple of defensive lapses in the second half but generally a very good showing and nearly scored a screamer just before coming off. 7 | Matt McNulty/Getty Images
11. ST - Brian Brobbey
Put in an outstanding shift. Chelsea just couldn’t live with him and he brought his team into the game so often. Sharper finishing away from a perfect showing. 8 | Getty Images
12. Sub - Jules Ahoka
What a performance. He might be a little raw at times but he is combative, covers the ground well and consistently made good decisions. Outstanding in the circumstances. 9 | Sunderland Echo, Chris Fryatt
