Sunderland fell to their fourth defeat in a row at Oxford United on Saturday.
Goals from Ben Nelson and Michael Helik either side of half time proved the difference as a much stronger Black Cats side produced a poor performance at the Kassam Stadium. Here’s how we rated the Black Cats...
5. Trai Hume
Beaten once or twice early and lacked his usual quality in possession until the final quarter of the game. 4 | Phil Smith Photo: Phil Smith
6. Dan Neil
Well short of his best at the base of midfield. Didn’t win anywhere near as many duels as usual or open up the pitch with his passing. 4 | Phil Smith
7. Jobe Bellingham
Took him the best part of an hour to get into the game. Looked good after that, turning away from trouble and creating some openings, but the game was all but lost by then. 5 | Phil Smith
8. Chris Rigg
Hit the post with a good header in the second half, by some distance the closest Sunderland got to scoring. Had some good moments in the game and was probably the best performer in a very poor team display. 6 | Phil Smith Photo: Phil Smith
