Noah Sadiki sets clear target for 2026/27 season that Sunderland fans will love

Sunderland have welcomed back a number of their World Cup stars on their US tour this week

Noah Sadiki says he wants to improve his goal contributions at Sunderland this season after linking up with his team mates in Nashville on Monday.

Sadiki joined Robin Roefs, Brian Brobbey, Simon Adingra, Habib Diarra and Nilson Angulo in returning to training following their World Cup commitments. The Black Cats head to New Jersey this week to face Leeds United, before concluding their US tour in Pennsylvania on Sunday.

Sadiki will likely get his first pre-season minutes in those games and says he is excited at the prospect of the club's first European campaign in over 50 years. Though he enjoyed a hugely successful first campaign on Wearside, he feels there is more to come and particularly in the final third.

“I feel like there’s more to come from me," Sadiki said.

“I know my numbers need to be better - and I am confident I will show that on the pitch this season. I need to score more goals and provide more assists this coming season.”

“We’re all looking forward to the new season,” he added.

“I’m excited to play in the Europa League - it’ll be amazing for the club. I can’t wait for the season to get started, so we can prove again what a good team we are.”

Sadiki believes the team's strong team spirit was central to their success last year and is confident they can replicate it this time around.

"Last season was incredible - but we all want more,” he said.

“We had a great team spirit, a good group of friends who came together and achieved good things.

“That spirit was natural, not forced - and that’s what made us successful on the pitch. The gaffer helped us with that as well. We have a young team, we all want to improve, as a team and as individuals.

“Everything has been so good since I came to Sunderland - but I want more, I want to keep improving and getting better and better.”
