Sunderland continued their Premier League campaign against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Chemsdine Talbi’s strike looked like it might have secured another famous win for the Black Cats, but Florian Wirtz equalised late on to secure a point for the hosts.
Here’s how we rated all the Black Cats involved on the night...
5. CB - Omar Alderete
Looked very much back to his best after that recent spell of the sidelines. Composed on the ball, so calm defensively and unlucky to see a header in the second half hit the post. 8 | Sunderland's Omar Alderete. Photo by Chris Fryatt.
6. LWB - Reinildo
Had a superb game. Dominant in his defensive duties in the first half then did very well against Salah and Szoboszlai as the intensity lifted considerably in the second half. Showed his experience, pace and quality. 8 | Frank Reid
7. RW - Chemsdine Talbi
A slice of fortune for his deflected goal but he had been a real threat in the second half and deserved that fortune. Calm on the ball and carried the ball forward well - will just be frustrated he lost out ot Curtis Jones in the build up to the equaliser. 7 | Chris Fryatt
8. CM - Granit Xhaka
Another strong performance at the base of midfield, controlling the tempo of the game and picking some excellent passes. Broke up play well when he needed to. 7 | Getty Images
