Norwich City, West Brom, Watford and Sunderland have all been credited with an interest in the 23 year old defender who could leave Scotland next month. Although Hibs, under management of former Sunderland boss Lee Johnson, would be reluctant to see Porteous leave mid-season, the threat of losing him on a free in summer could mean he is allowed to leave for a fee when the window opens.

The report also suggests that there has been interest from France and Belgium in the defender, although a move to the Championship is seen as the ‘most likely’ option.

Recent reports have suggested that Burnley will look to sign Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres in January to aid their promotion bid. Vincent Kompany’s side currently sit top of the table and have scored more goals than anyone else in the league. The potential addition of Gyokeres, who has 9 goals in 19 games this season, would be a huge boost for the Clarets.
