Sunderland were held to a dramatic 2-2 draw against QPR at the Stadium of Light after a late equaliser from Rangers goalkeeper Seny Dieng.

Alex Neil’s side took a two-goal lead in the first half courtesy of finishes from Ross Stewart and Ellis Simms.

The hosts looked like they would see the game out before Ilias Chair’s free-kick halved the deficit.

Dieng then headed home an equaliser after coming up for a corner in stoppage-time.

Here’s how the game played out.

Ballard is limping off the pitch now and can’t put any weight on his right ankle.

Like O’Nien is coming on.

This doesn’t look too good for Daniel Ballard who has gone down after he was caught by Adomah.

The Sunderland defender is now receiving treatment.

2’ How Sunderland have started

So as expected Neil has picked the side which started at Bristol City last weekend.

At Ashton Gate Sunderland lined up with a back three and wing-backs, yet we know the formation is adaptable.

Carl Winchester, Jay Matete and Trai Hume are the players who have not been named in the squad.

As had been reported, Jake Clarke-Salter, George Thomas, Luke Amos, Chris Willock and Kenneth Paal all miss out for the visitors.
