Sunderland have pressed high up the pitch in this first half and stopped Norwich playing out from the back.
Their aggressive approach saw Cirkin receive a yellow card for a late challenge but it has also brought rewards.
Another early cross from Clarke almost found Simms in the box but the striker couldn’t quite control the delivery on the stretch.
