Elliott Dickman’s side caused their host a manner of problems, but couldn’t find an elusive goal as they slipped to another defeat.
But how did their players perform? We’ve dished out our players ratings – with one of the three triallists on show really catching the eye. Scroll down and click through the pages to see our ratings:
5. JACK BAINBRIDGE
His usual sturdy self at the back, he dealt well with the front two of Toure and Sorensen and won practically everything in the air. Late red card put a downer on his display, though. 5 | JPIMedia Resell Photo: Frank Reid
6. RUBEN SAMMUT
Played a stunning ball through to Frost just before half-time which deserved a goal. Put himself about in the middle and helped to break up play but had little real impact. 5 | JPIMedia Resell Photo: FRANK REID

7. JAKE HACKETT
Did a good job of protecting the back four and was key in helping the Black Cats drive forward when under pressure. 6 | JPIMedia Resell Photo: FRANK REID
8. JOE HUGILL
Spent most of the game performing the thankless task of chasing long balls into the channels. Did well when he saw the ball though. 6 | Getty Images Photo: Nick Taylor/Liverpool FC
