46’ Patterson almost caught out

Patterson eventually passed to Doyle who was dispossessed by Whittacker, who tried to shoot at an open goal.

Patterson managed to get back to gather the ball.

First-half thoughts from the Stadium of Light

Half-Time: Sunderland 0 Lincoln 1

Now Winchester has gone into the booked for a foul on Maguire.

There was a sarcastic applause from Johnson following the earlier incident.

Eyoma has also been booked for Lincoln.

33’ Stewart header saved

Almost a quick response but Stewart’s header is saved by Griffiths.

Lincoln lead after a quick free-kick, and that’s not all of it.

Maguire took the free-kick before Adelakun’s shot was blocked by Flanagan.

The ball bounced back to Maguire who fired it past Patterson.

After a muted celebration, the Lincoln forward then ran over to Johnson before the pair exchanged words.

The former Sunderland man is now being booed by the home fans.

The reaction appeared to be a response to Maguire’s earlier tackle when the Sunderland bench were appealing for a red card.

29’ Gooch pass goes astray

Another loose pass from Sunderland as Gooch kicks the ball out of play.

The hosts have just been a bit sloppy and ponderous in possession in the last few minutes.

Gooch apologises for the error.
