The Black Cats looked to be beaten by Barrie McKay’s early strike, but saw their pressure pay off in the dying seconds as Max Power thumped home to seal a point.
So how did their players rate in the clash? Scroll down and click through the pages to see how our chief Sunderland AFC writer, Phil Smith, rated the individual display on show from Phil Parkinson’s side:
9. Lynden Gooch
Fleetwood defended against him well, swarming him whenever he received possession. Off the pace and didn’t make much impact when dropping back to a wing-back role late on. 5 Photo: FRANK REID 2020
10. Chris Maguire
One of only a couple of players to show composure in possession early on and was unlucky to see a good effort crash off the crossbar. Less effective in the second half. 6 Photo: FRANK REID 2020
11. Charlie Wyke
Looked a bit more threatening when he had Kyle Lafferty for support but a game he was unable to make much of an impression on and had very little sight of goal. 5 Photo: FRANK REID 2019
12. Antoine Semenyo
Showed some good touches and came close with one fine effort late on, deflected just over the bar. 6 Photo: Frank Reid
