We’ve been looking at which players we would retain, release and sign ahead of the new campaign (whenever that may be!).
But how does our final Sunderland AFC squad look? Scroll down and click through the pages to find out as we reveal the final 25-man squad we’ve built, that includes no fewer than SIX new recruits:
21. FWD: Will Grigg
Call me crazy, but I haven't given up on Will Grigg just yet. Sunderland know he could prove an asset in League One - hence why they wouldn't allow him to leave to a third tier rival in January - and here's hoping he can prove that at the Stadium of Light. Photo: Frank Reid
22. FWD: Kyle Lafferty
Lafferty's brace against Gillingham showed what he could bring to this Sunderland squad, and so an extended deal may well suit both parties. Photo: FRANK REID 2019
23. FWD: Antoine Semenyo
In the limited glimpses we've had of Semenyo, he's certainly shown the pace and power that Sunderland are lacking. A further loan deal may aid his development - and provide Sunderland with a different and effective attacking option. Photo: Frank Reid
24. FWD: Jacques Maghoma
Set to be released by Birmingham City this summer, Maghoma could prove a useful recruit - and brings a heap of Championship experience with him. He's pacy, powerful and capable of delivering moments of magic - just what Sunderland need. Photo: Nathan Stirk
