We’ve been looking at which players we would retain, release and sign ahead of the new campaign (whenever that may be!).
But how does our final Sunderland AFC squad look? Scroll down and click through the pages to find out as we reveal the final 25-man squad we’ve built, that includes no fewer than SIX new recruits:
5. DEF: Jordan Willis
Arguably Sunderland's signing of the season, Willis will be a key part of the squad moving into next season - and hopefully beyond. Photo: Frank Reid
6. DEF: Bailey Wright
The Australian international sees his contract expire at Bristol City this summer and, if his first few appearances in a Sunderland shirt are anything to go by, will be a shrewd acquisition if a permanent deal can be struck. Photo: Frank Reid
7. DEF: Tom Flanagan
Flanagan's versatility - he can play anywhere across the back three - may edge him ahead of the likes of Alim Ozturk and Joel Lynch in the race to win a new deal. His current contract is set to expire this summer. Photo: COPYRIGHT (C) FRANK REID 20187
8. DEF: Sean Raggett
And so we come on to our first new face. Sunderland are sure to be in need of defensive reinforcements over the summer, particularly if Parkinson continues playing with a back three. Raggett, on loan at Portsmouth from Norwich this term, could be available on a free in the summer. Photo: Charlie Crowhurst
