A number of sides in midtable took advantage, with just four points now separating third from 13th. That was helped, though, by a number of tight fixtures between teams towards the top end of the standings. It has been a predictably volatile week, so Phil Smith runs through his power rankings to establish who came out of the two fixtures looking in good order, and who has been left with a lot of work to do to get their campaign back on track….
13. 7. Fleetwood Town (-2)
Not in action on Tuesday night, and suffered a frustrating afternoon at Southend United on Saturday. Enjoyed the better of the game but kept allowing their opponents back into it and couldn't land the win they would have expected. Photo: Alex Livesey
14. 6. Doncaster Rovers
Just one point from two and no goals scored, but that barely tells the story for Doncaster Rovers. They probably had the better of a tough away fixture at Ipswich Town, before being stung by a Blackpool counter-attack in the last minute of their game last night. Photo: George Wood
15. 5. Blackpool (+3)
Looked very much as if they would be going six league games without a win before a fine counter-attack was headed home by Armand Gnanduillet, fast emerging as the talisman for Simon Grayson. A good response from a shocking 3-0 defeat to MK Dons, with Doncaster going well under Darren Moore. It will be interesting to see whether that early-season confidence returns. Photo: Jack Thomas
16. 3. Peterborough United (+3)
Their electric front three was the talk of the division after a 6-0 win over Rochdale made it 15 goals in four games without response. They continued in that fashion away at Tranmere Rovers, taking a 2-0 lead early in the second half. But a spirited response from Micky Mellon's side snatched a point and served as a timely reminder that this division is easy for no one. Photo: Ker Robertson
