A number of sides in midtable took advantage, with just four points now separating third from 13th. That was helped, though, by a number of tight fixtures between teams towards the top end of the standings. It has been a predictably volatile week, so Phil Smith runs through his power rankings to establish who came out of the two fixtures looking in good order, and who has been left with a lot of work to do to get their campaign back on track….
9. 14. MK Dons (No Change)
One of the most inconsistent sides in the division so far and this was no different. A quite outstanding 3-0 victory against Blackpool away from home raised eyebrows, with Paul Tisdale's side rarely troubled by the opposition's direct approach. Then lost 1-0 at home to Ipswich Town, though that was a tight game and they will feel they have shown the quality to push on. | Getty Images Photo: Pete Norton
10. 12. Bristol Rovers
Not for the first time, it was Jonson Clarke-Harris who proved the difference, scoring a crucial penalty to seal a big win away at Lincoln City. They couldn't quite back that up against Gillingham at home, but four points represented a good return and getting loanee Tyler Smith on the scoresheet was an added bonus. | Getty Images Photo: Alex Burstow
11. 10. Lincoln City (-1)
A late equaliser from Tyler Walker rescued a point at Rochdale and ended a brutal week on a positive note. Had been beaten 1-0 by Bristol Rovers in the first game since Danny Cowley left for Huddersfield Town. Michael Appleton has seen his odds slash on Wedneday to replace him, in what would be a smart move that could prevent too much momentum being lost. | Getty Images Photo: Laurence Griffiths
12. 8. Rotherham United (+8)
Still very much in the bottom half of the table but with games in hand on all but one team above them. A fine 6-1 in over Bolton Wanderers was put in an even more positive light when Keith Hill's side drew 0-0 with Oxford last night, while Paul Warne's side themselves earned a good draw at the Stadium of Light. They were lucky not to fall far behind early on but after Aiden McGeady's penalty miss played well, with Freddie Ladapo and Jake Hastie in excellent form. | Getty Images Photo: George Wood
