Eight of the top ten secured wins, with a number of dominant performances. The only two sides not to win, Doncaster and Coventry City, played out a predictably tight draw that underlined the poise with which both sides have started the campaign. At the top, there were some big results for Portsmouth and Accrington Stanley, who bounced back from some concerning results with key wins. Here, Phil Smith runs through the results as usual to try and identify some of the key trends in the division...
21. 3. Wycombe Wanderers (+2)
A remarkable away win, scoring with each one of their three shots on target and having just 29% of possession. Just keep coming up with results and their clever additions in forward areas over the summer are paying off. Photo: Pete Norton
22. 2. Fleetwood Town
An absolutely ruthless display at Shrewsbury Town, by no means an easy place to win. Joey Barton said the second half display was their best of the season so far. Photo: Alex Livesey
23. 1. Ipswich Town (No change)
Still unbeaten and starting to open up a lead at the top. Utterly ruthless in front of goal, scoring some superb strikes. No clean sheet this time but still conceded just five across the season so far. Setting the pace. Photo: Stephen Pond
