16 clubs must vote for the plans for them to be passed, with a number of sides having already pinned their colours to the mast while making their voting intentions clear.
But could it be a closer result than expected? We take a look at how every club could vote:
5. Burton Albion
Burton are also in favour of the salary cap plans, with chairman Ben Robinson confirming they support the proposals. PREDICTED VOTE: YES TO THE SALARY CAP Photo: Michael Regan
6. Charlton Athletic
While the Addicks have not yet confirmed their voting intentions, given their stature as one of the most well-supported clubs in League One it is reasonable to assume they will be against any plans that could limit their spending power. PREDICTED VOTE: NO TO THE SALARY CAP Photo: Justin Setterfield
7. Crewe Alexandra
Manager David Artell has already alluded to the fact that some clubs are in 'choppy waters' this summer, and that could be a hint that the Railwaymen are in favour of these spending caps. PREDICTED VOTE: YES TO THE SALARY CAP Photo: Gareth Copley
8. Doncaster Rovers
CEO Gavin Baldwin has called for some element of financial control, but believes any cap could deter clubs from increasing their revenue. PREDICTED VOTE: NO TO THE SALARY CAP Photo: George Wood
