'Give us the trophy NOW!': Sunderland fans rejoice as Chris Maguire stays - but have a message for Phil Parkinson

Maguire will now stay at the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2021 after the club confirmed that a one-year option in his contract has been triggered.

He joins the likes of Luke O’Nien and Josh Scowen in remaining on Wearside next season – with Sunderland fans pleased with the base of the squad being assembled.

But they have urged Phil Parkinson to add some new faces, while also securing some key men who are yet to put pen to paper.
