Chris Maguire agrees contract extension as Sunderland publish retained list in full

The Black Cats have this morning issued their full retained list for the 2020/21 campaign, with the 31-year-old taking up the option to extend his contract for another season.
The popular forward has been in excellent form this season, scoring 11 goals.

Hide AdThe attacking midfielder has been a particularly prominent player since Phil Parkinson's switch to a 3-4-3 system, and the Black Cats boss was eager to secure his services for next season, whenever that eventually begins.
Sunderland are still in talks with Jon McLaughlin and Tom Flanagan, the other two players to be offered a new contract.
McLaughlin has interest from a number of clubs, including Blackburn Rovers and Rangers.
The club's retained list also confirms that Luke O'Nien remains under contract for next season.

Hide AdAs reported by The Echo earlier this year, the popular 25-year-old had a year-long extension clause in his current deal activated by the club.
Josh Scowen is also under contract for next season, as a clause in his deal that allowed a Championship club to move for him in the event that Sunderland did not win promotion has now expired.
Sunderland have also announced a number of key calls on players in their academy ranks.
