Champions League club ready to 'push the button' on January transfer window deal for Sunderland winger
A Sunderland winger has interest from a Champions League club - according to reports in Turkey.
Sunderland winger Chemsdine Talbi is reportedly attracting interest from a Champions League club after being linked with a move away from Wearside during the closing weeks of the summer transfer window.
The ten-times capped Morocco international has made just one start for the Black Cats this season and he marked that by grabbing the only goal of a Carabao Cup third round win against Premier League rivals Hull City. However, the winger’s only Premier League appearance came from the bench in the opening day defeat at Ipswich Town as he was introduced into the action during the final half-hour at Portman Road.

However, Talbi’s chances of securing further appearances were hampered when Talbi was left out of Sunderland’s Europa League squad. That led to speculation his time with the Black Cats could be coming to a close - but head coach Le Bris stressed the 21-year-old is ‘switched on’ to life at the Stadium of Light after failing to secure a move.
Speaking about the decision to retain the winger’s services earlier this month, Le Bris said: “It was clear that it wasn't the best moment to leave for him, for us, so we are aligned. It was a consensus. He showed against Hull that he's all in with us, no doubt. It's impressive for a young guy because you can say what you want, but this period is always hard to manage.
“But after the end of the market in Saudi, it's done. Now he’s switched on with Sunderland 100 per cent. It was impressive. His position is versatile- he has the space, the ability to run on the right side under the striker [as a ten] and to manage transitions really well. It's another option for the manager and the coaching staff. I think it's really positive.”
With thoughts turning towards the January transfer window, reports in Turkey have suggested Fenerbahce have placed Talbi on their transfer shortlist as they look to add a winger to a squad that already containing the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Marco Asensio and Matteo Guendouzi. FotoMac have stated the Champions League qualifiers are ready to ‘press the button’ to secure a deal for the Black Cats winger when the January transfer window opens in the new year.
