Tottenham Hotspur 'turn down' chance to sign ex-Sunderland man's son as Spurs 'consider' shock appointment

It was claimed by Football Insider that Spurs had been offered Clark and were ready to ‘run the rule’ over the 16-year-old.

And after close consideration, the same publication says the North London club have opted against signing him.

Clark, one of the most highly-rated prospects in United’s academy, became the youngest-ever player to represent the club’s under-18s when he was aged just 14 in August 2019.

The midfielder has also represented England at under-16s level.

Scott Parker emerges as contender for Spurs job

Former Newcastle United captain Scott Parker is a shock favourite with the bookmakers to take charge of Tottenham Hotspur

Parker, who played for the Magpies between 2005 and 2007, fell short in his battle to keep Fulham in the Premier League, despite providing some nervy moments for Toon fans.

Cameron Ferguson, a striker, was fielded as a trialist in the game at Whitley Park when the young Magpies came from two goals down to edge a seven-goal thriller.

His father, Duncan, spent two years at St James’s Park in the late 1990s.
