Darlow pulled off a string of saves in this afternoon’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur side.

The goalkeeper kept Newcastle, trailing to a first-half Lucas Moura strike, in the behind-closed-doors game, and United claimed a point with a controversial penalty from Callum Wilson after a lengthy VAR review and pitchside check from referee Peter Bankes into an inadvertent Eric Dier handball.

A furious Mourinho didn’t want to talk about the penalty decision after the game, but Tottenham’s manager did praise Darlow, who’s enjoying a run in Bruce’s side with Martin Dubravka sidelined with a heel injury.

“I don’t want to comment – I just don’t want to,” said Mourinho. “My team did a fantastic match – I cannot ask more from the players. Their goalkeeper was phenomenal. I cannot ask more from my players.”
