Outs are a little more likely than ins – at first-team level, at least – next month, but nothing seems to be off the table for Bruce & Co heading into 2020.
Here we take a look at the THIRTEEN deals the Magpies could strike between now and February.
9. Ibrahima Sissoko - STRASBOURG
The 22-year-old midfielder has been reported in France as another 'done deal' - will have to wait and see on this one. The player is a former France under-21 international and fits the category of player Bruce wants and the United scouting system often target. Photo: NICOLAS TUCAT
10. Granit Xhaka - ARSENAL
As the days go on, looking less and less likely - although, Bruce is a big fan of the player. Might be given a fresh chance to impress at Arsenal under a new manager. Even if he does leave, he's likely to head to club's a little higher than Newcastle in the European football food chain. AC Milan are favourites. Photo: David Price
11. Jamie Sterry - OUT
Playing week-in, week-out for the reserves, the right-back must feel like his career is on the wane before it has really begun. Lower league, or even non-league football beckons for the player but it might be a case of seeing out his bumper deal playing 23s football until the summer. Photo: Ian MacNicol
12. Yoshinori Muto - OUT
Another who has to be very upset with a lack of opportunities at United. To be honest, though, has done little of note when handed the chance. Although, when asked this season he has done a job, despite getting a bad press in some awful defeats. Would be no shock to see the player head back to the Bundesliga on loan in search of games.
