Outs are a little more likely than ins – at first-team level, at least – next month, but nothing seems to be off the table for Bruce & Co heading into 2020.
Here we take a look at the THIRTEEN deals the Magpies could strike between now and February.
5. Henri Saivet - OUT
Another who falls into the Colback category. If United want the midfielder 'with legs' and forward their squad needs a number of players will need to be shown the door. The Senegal international, who has done little of note bar score against West Ham in his time on Tyneside, continues to train with the first-team group but cannot be selected. Photo: Catherine Ivill
6. Javier Manquillo - OUT
West Ham United, Saturday's opponents Crystal Palace as well as Brighton & Hove Albion are all looking into the prospect of doing a deal to sign the Spaniard next month. Definitely not the worst of United's right-backs but with his deal up in the summer, the most likely to depart. Photo: Mark Runnacles
7. Jetro Willems - LOAN MADE PERMANENT
Reports suggest United can make this deal permanent in the summer for around the £10million mark - and Eintracht Frankfurt are likely to be happy to let the Netherlands international leave without too much fuss. Has been a revelation on the left hand-side for United after a slow start. Fitter and stronger now, he looks a real steal. Photo: Jan Kruger
8. Stephane Diarra - LE MANS
The winger is a player on the radar of most of the Premier League due to his positive displays across the Channel. French publications believe United have scouted the 20-year-old extensively over the course of the last few months. Photo: JEAN-FRANCOIS MONIER
