South Shields, Jarrow and Newcastle University are among the clubs to feature this week, in what will be a new weekly feature with the list published every Monday on the Sunderland Echo.

1. Winners: Annfield Plain
It’s just over a week since the Wearside League club were subjected to a 16-0 home hammering by Horden CW. Chris Connell stepped in as interim manager in the aftermath of that game, signed over 20 players during the week and then watched his new look side battle to a 3-1 home win against Darlington RA on Saturday. A remarkable turnaround! Photo: Annfield Plain
2. Winner: Terry Galbraith
The former Darlington defender returned to Dunston UTS earlier this summer and he marked the first competitive game of his second spell with a late penalty to seal a 2-1 home win against a much-fancied Marine side. Photo: Kelvin Shell
3. Winners: Hebburn Town
The Hornets continued their impressive start to the season by scoring eight goals in their two wins this week. A dominant second-half display helped Kevin Bolam’s side to a 4-0 home win against West Auckland Town on Tuesday night and they matched that scoreline in their visit to Seaham Red Star on Saturday. That makes it maximum points from their three league games and they are yet to concede a goal. Photo: Sean Harrison
4. Winner: Matty Tymon
What better way to mark your league debut for a new club than by scoring a hat-trick to help them to an impressive away win on the opening day of the season? That’s exactly what former Whitby Town striker Matty Tymon did as his treble put Marske United on their way to a 4-2 win at City of Liverpool. As a further bonus for Seasiders manager Carl Jarrett, Tymon’s strike partner Adam Boyes grabbed the other goal on his league debut for the club. Photo: Karen Harland
