The incident happened at the Blind Lane Interchange, near Chester le Street at around 10am.
Durham Constabulary said: “Police were called at 10.05am today to a one-vehicle collision on the A1(M) at the Blind Lane Interchange involving a Vauxhall Corsa.
“Nobody is believed to have been injured.”
