Sunderland's Auto Expo is a sell-out success

Hundreds of delegates from across the region gathered in Sunderland to celebrate the success of the North East automotive industry.

The North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA)’s third Expo was a sell-out at the Stadium of Light.

The event aims to highlight the strength and depth of the North East’s automotive industry as well as helping firms to win new business.

It featured keynote speeches from Nissan Vice-President of Purchasing Judith Richardson, who offered an overview of the car giant’s supply chain strategy and the future opportunities within the sector, and Garry Wilson from the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC), who talked about the funding opportunities the APC offers and the launch of the EV Supply Chain Programme.

“The North East Automotive Expo supports our localisation strategy and provides meet-the-buyer opportunities with key automotive companies whilst showcasing the strength and breadth of the North East automotive sector,” said Judith Richardson.

NEAA chief executive Paul Butler, said: “I am delighted to have Judith and Garry speak at this year’s event, which has received phenomenal support.

“We are committed to keeping the expo industry-focussed and are confident this year’s event will provide even more opportunities for our members, SMEs and the wider automotive sector.”
