Members of Easington Deanery Mothers’ Union were invited to join with members of Christ Church Mothers’ Union, who celebrated their 120th anniversary with a Service of Holy Communion, led by The Diocesan Mothers’ Union Chaplain Val Shedden and the Rev Paul Harrison. Banners were paraded from various branches. A buffet tea followed and Enid Curry, branch leader, and the Rev Val Shedden cut a birthday cake. Christ Church Branch was inaugurated with the support of Lady Londonderry in December, 1895. New members are welcome to attend the monthly meeting.

Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard producing the belated Christmas dinner held at Christ Church on Friday, January 8. It was a very successful event with almost 70 people sitting down to the wonderful feast. The proceeds of the day amounted to £612, which will go to help maintain the parish church. The next monthly home-cooked three-course luncheon, plus tea or coffee, will be held on Friday from 11.30am-1pm.

On Friday Ten Worship, modern cafe style worship with a live band, and cakes, tea and coffee served throughout the evening, will be held from 7.30pm in Seaham Methodist Church, Tempest Road.
