Police give an update after man brought down from Sunderland city centre roof
A man who was brought down from the top of a Sunderland city centre building is now being given help, police have said.

Crews of firefighters from South Shields and Hebburn were sent to the scene by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Sevice just before 8pm, with the North East Ambulance Service sending two of its Hazardous Area Response Teams (Hart).

Hide AdThe incident was brought to a close by 11.15pm, when the medics were released from the scene, after firefighters were able to return to their station half an hour earlier.
No one was injured during the alert.
Today, a spokesperson said: “The man has been provided with help and support from local services.”
