Washington children’s group Little Onions spreads Christmas cheer by collecting 260 boxes of biscuits to donate to care home residents
The Little Onion Club, based in Washington, wanted to collect boxes of biscuits to put a smile on the faces of care home residents, many of whom haven’t been able to see their family for months this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The youngsters in the group set themselves a target of collecting 180 boxes, but smashed their initial goal and collected a mammoth total of 260 boxes.

The Little Onions Club is an inter-generational programme providing gardening activities and workshops for children and after a difficult year, everyone involved is keen to spread some positivity this Christmas.
Members of the group went around the community asking for charitable donations to support care home residents and were overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the community.
Kim Scott, director at The Little Onion Club, is delighted with their success.
