Take a look inside Seaham’s brand new theatre-themed cafe
A drama school owner has turned her lifelong dream into a reality by opening a musical theatre-themed cafe in the heart of Seaham.
Kym Cuer, 41, opened Starz Theatre Cafe earlier this month – something that has always been her dream.
Starz Theatre Cafe can be found inside Starz Drama School, in Station Road, Seaham, and is a real hidden gem.
Accessed via a “backstage door”, customers can enjoy a range of hot and cold food, cakes and theatre-themed drinks – from defying cappucinos to Charlie’s hot chocolates.

Each table is theatre-themed and customers can sing their heart out to their favourite theatre songs as musicals are played all-day-long.
Kym said: “It has gone down an absolute storm.
"People have been coming from all over for it – from Darlington, Newcastle, Morpeth, Teesside.”
Kym first moved to Seaham from Leicester 14 years ago and always dreamed of running her own drama school.

She studied performing arts at university but, after falling pregnant with her first child as she graduated, she never got the chance to pursue her dream – until now.
The mum of three said: "I had a conversation with a friend and said ‘I’ve always had this dream of running my own drama school’, and she said, ‘well why don’t you just do it’, and so I set the business up.
"I started with 12 children and now I have 300."
Kym first opened her drama school at Seaham Leisure Centre with just 12 children before getting the keys to her current premises, the former Seaham Conservative Club, back in December.
She said: “Being a conservative club, it had everything we needed.”
Classes started in January but the cafe was more of a work-in-progress.
She said: "We had this space and I’ve always wanted a cafe but our first venue was too small, so when we moved into this place I thought, now is the time.
"We had no budget for it so we just added to it as and when we had the money.”
Starz Theatre Cafe offers an “immersive experience”, with monthly themed afternoon teas.
She said: "I wanted to offer more of an immersive experience rather than it just being a cafe.”
