Wander through Church Street and at the bottom head left in the direction of Harbour Marina. There are works ongoing at the moment so you'll have to cross the road as you admire the wheel, taken from a colliery winding engine. Photo: JPI
At this point you could head down towards the marina or carrying on your walk along North Terrace passed the old police station stopping to admire the statue of the 6th Marquess of Londonderry. Photo: JPI
It's not a trip to Seaham without a visit to its landmark statue named locally as Tommy. Created by sculpture Ray Lonsdale, the town campaigned to raise thousands of pounds to buy the statue which had been on loan at the seafront spot in 2014. Inspired by the First World War, the piece is officially named Eleven O One to reflect the first minute of peace. Photo: JPI
