Nine things to do at Sunderland's seaside as temperatures continue to rise

Sunderland is continuing to bask in warm weather, after the city saw temperatures of 24C earlier this week – and its set to continue into the weekend.
With blue skies and the sun shining, there’s plenty to do at Sunderland’s seaside.

Hide AdThe city is host to both Roker and Seaburn beaches where visitors can enjoy grabbing an ice-cream or some fish and chips at the seaside.
Both beaches were named as winners of prestigious Blue Flag awards by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy last month – making them two of just 76 beaches across the UK to win the award.
Some visitors to the city’s beaches looking for a little more excitement can take up paddleboarding at Roker before cooling off by having a cold pint at Grannie Annie’s.
After having fun making sandcastles, many head to the arcades to compete against friends in Seaburn.
