Nine things to do at Sunderland's seaside as temperatures continue to rise
As temperatures continue to rise, we have rounded up our favourite things to do at the seaside in Sunderland – Take a look at our top nine things.
Sunderland is continuing to bask in warm weather, after the city saw temperatures of 24C earlier this week – and its set to continue into the weekend.
With blue skies and the sun shining, there’s plenty to do at Sunderland’s seaside.
The city is host to both Roker and Seaburn beaches where visitors can enjoy grabbing an ice-cream or some fish and chips at the seaside.
Both beaches were named as winners of prestigious Blue Flag awards by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy last month – making them two of just 76 beaches across the UK to win the award.
Some visitors to the city’s beaches looking for a little more excitement can take up paddleboarding at Roker before cooling off by having a cold pint at Grannie Annie’s.
After having fun making sandcastles, many head to the arcades to compete against friends in Seaburn.
Here are our favourite things to do on a sunny day in Sunderland:
Walk the 609 metres to the end of Roker Pier Grab a pint at Grannie Annie’s and enjoy the view of the sea Make a sandcastle on the beach Have an ice-cream at the famous Minchella’s Paddleboard in Roker bay Eat fish and chips on the beach Escape the seafront crowds with a walk around Roker Park Pay a visit to the arcades Admire the boats parked up at the marina
