Volunteer Ruth Bell said the van would make a huge difference to the community hub and mean they can better support those who need their help, while also helping reduce the team’s carbon footprint.

She said: “It has been busier than ever during this second lockdown with a lot of people remaining furloughed.

"We’re still continuing to give out about 70 meals a day and a van would really help us better support the community and reduce our carbon footprint too.”

Mickey’s Place, based at St Michael's Church in Sulgrave, opened at the beginning of May 2020 after organisers saw how many people were struggling during the coronavirus lockdown.
