Inquest date confirmed as woman who died after Horden crash is named

Her inquest is set to be opened on the morning of Friday, March 5, by the office of the County Durham and Darlington Coroner at Crook Civic Centre.

Hide AdThe emergency services were called to the road, close to its junction with Webb Square, shortly before 4pm.
The crash involved a blue Ford Focus, which was being driven by Ms Osborne-Sawyer, and a red Mercedes C220, which had been travelling in opposite directions.
Ms Osborne-Sawyer died at the scene, with flowers and notes left in tribute to her in the wake of the tragedy.

Hide AdHe was released on conditional bail by magistrates and will next appear before Durham Crown Court on Friday, March 12.
The road was closed off for eight hours as crash investigators carried out initial investigations into the collision, with witnesses urged to get in touch with Durham Constabulary as inquiries continue into the circumstances.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any information that could assist the investigation, is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 241 of February 6.
