Here’s what to expect from the weather at the 2026 Durham City Run Festival
Thousands of runners are getting ready to take to the historic streets of Durham as the city’s annual running festival approaches.
Durham City Run Festival is returning to Durham City on Thursday, July 16, featuring a 5K run and 10K run.
The city run event, which is kicking off at 7pm, was founded by Olympic medal winner and former University of Sunderland Chancellor Steve Cram back in 2016, who also organised the Sunderland half marathon and 10K events as part of Sunderland City Runs.
So what is the weather going to be like?

On Thursday, it is expected to be partially cloudy, with highs of 19 degrees Celsius and lows of 16 degrees Celsius.
There is a five percent chance of rain but the visibility is expected to be very good.
Pollen for the North East of England is going to be high however, especially for grass pollen sufferers.
