Footage shows RAF helicopter landing in Sunderland - this is why it was seen flying across the city

An RAF helicopter was seen flying into Sunderland on Thursday, April 23, as officials from the NHS visited the Nightingale Hospital in the North East.

Footage shows the impressive Chinook landing in Sunderland as NHS officials visited the Nightingale Hospital North East which is being built in the city.

Construction is ongong to finish the 460-bed hospital which will open near Nissan’s Washington plant.

Footage, provided by Sunderland City Council, shows the impressive RAF Chinook landing in Sunderland where NHS officials were then transported from the landing site to the nearby hospital.

The building, which now houses the hospital, will eventually become home to the Centre of Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing (CeSAM).
