Armistice Day: 12 poignant pictures as Remembrance service held at Seaham's Tommy statue

And in Seaham, at Ray Lonsdale’s iconic Tommy statue, a Remembrance service took place in recognition of Armistice Day.

It was on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 that the armistice between the Allied forces and Germany was signed.

So we take a moment to reflect and remember those who served and sacrificed in the First World War, and beyond.
