And it’s not the first time people from Seaham have hit lucky and won big in recent weeks.

Anita won £597,000 just hours after joining the online game and depositing her first £20. The money was deposited in her account week after her win, then just three days later Anita won £522,000 in another game.

Now 16 neighbours have won £1,000 each after their postcode was announced as Friday’s winner.

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted by War Child which has received over £11.3 million in funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. It works to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children in areas effected by conflict.

The next opportunity local charities will have to apply for funding will be early next year.
