Anita Campbell, 51, from Seaham hit two half-a-million-pound jackpots within 10 days playing Mecca Bingo online.

She plans to transform her family's lives with the cash and has already bought her 73-year-old father's home for him and paid for her daughter to undergo IVF treatment.

"It's still a bit of a dream," she said.

"I'm over the moon, I still can't believe it, I thought straight away I can help my kids with this money."

Anita has struggled with her health in recent years and had been on Universal Credit. "It's been more than a year and it has been very hard. I've lost weight, I've not been able to eat properly which has had an affect on my diabetes."

Anita won £597,000 just hours after joining the online game and depositing her first £20. The money was deposited in her account week after her win, then just three days later Anita won £522,000 in another game.

She said: "I just couldn't believe that I'd won again, I told my kids and they didn't believe me."

Anita has treated her four children to shopping trips and bought toys for her five-year-old grandson.

"He rang me and asked 'Nana are you rich? Can I have some lego?'" she said.

The wins were around a month ago and Anita has moved out of her rented home into a new play. She said: "I gave away my old furniture to people I thought might need it so that will have helped people," she said.

She has also used the money to pay off debts from paying for her mother's funeral last year.

Despite winning big, Anita admits she's still playing the game online. She said: "I play just for fun, I've never deposited more than £20 at a time but if I am bored in the house on my own I'll play a game or two.”
