With only days remaining until the big kick-off, Sunderland and their League One rivals are continuing to pursue new additions.
And reports today suggest that the Black Cats could face some competition in the race to land one of their top striking targets.

Sunderland will still face competition from Bolton Wanderers in the race for Charlie Wyke - despite reports that the Championship side had cooled their interest. Bolton are set to sign Josh Magennis from Charlton and, despite already signing one striker, manager Phil Parkinson is still interested in a deal for Wyke in what is another twist in the saga (Telegraph & Argus)
