Grangetown and Ashbrooke - Down Your Way

The regular five-weekly Northumbria Police PACT meeting for St Michael's ward was held at Auckland Homes, Hill View. Present were ward residents, together with a member of the neighbourhood police team and ward Councillor Peter Wood. The meeting discussed crime in the ward; the latest Pokemon craze; car parking causing obstruction and the positioning of CCTV in the ward. The next meeting will be held at the same venue on Tuesday, September 6, at 6pm. All ward residents are welcome to attend.

The speaker at the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Sunderland at the Rosedene Hotel was Amy Coulson. Before starting her mathematics degree course at Newcastle, Amy, from East Herrington, volunteered to work in an orphanage in Peru for a year. She thanked the Rotary Club for their donation towards her trip and described her role helping the young children. Club members were impressed by Amy’s hard work and determination to overcome unforeseen problems.

St Michael’s Residents’ Association next meet on Wednesday, August 31, at 6.30pm in Auckland Homes, Hill View Road.
