The Guide Post in Ryhope is hosting a fundraising evening on Saturday from 6pm with events including karaoke, a killer pool competition, disco and darts competition all planned. Food and a tombola is also lined up.

Organisers praised Jude and said ‘a braver 15 year old you can not find’. They also urged people to ‘fill the Guide Post and show Jude the strength of our community.”

Meanwhile, Jude’s aunt Georgia Punshon revealed the fantastic success of a fundraising ball which she held last month and raised a huge amount of money.

“It raised £5,492 and I am over the moon with that,” said Georgia. “Jude is still on his treatment and so far he is doing well on it.”

The city’s love for Jude is continuing while the 15 year old continues to have treatment in the USA.

Georgia said the events being organised in Sunderland were more than just fundraisers. They were ‘about showing Jude that he is loved, that people are standing behind him, and that even while he is thousands of miles away in America, his community back home is fighting alongside him’.

Donations have been pouring in from across Wearside for Jude, from Silksworth, to raise funds with a Go Fund Me page now standing at £99,925 raised.
