Friends of Jordan Bell, who has died two weeks after he was left with severe injuries in an alleged assault, have paid tribute to the ‘amazing, lovely, kind’ 27-year-old as they raise money to support his loved ones.

His workmates set up a funding page to help him with his bills as he was left in a critical condition in hospital.

An update added to the page yesterday, Friday, July 24, paid tribute to Mr Bell sharing the devastating news that he had died.

It said: “It is with deep sadness, our amazing lovely kind friend Jordan passed away.

"We are devastated and our love thoughts and prayers go out to his loving family at this sad time.

"We are continuing to raise funds for our Jordan, monies will go to his family.

"Please donate for our lovely, lovely friend.”

Officers said they were flagged down by a member of the public as they reported a man was lying unconscious in the street.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he underwent emergency for “severe” and “extensive” injuries, leaving him in a critical condition.

Detective Sergeant Katrina Moore, of Northumbria Police, said: “Jordan’s family are devastated and these past two weeks have been a living nightmare for them.

“We have been carrying out an investigation so we can establish exactly what has happened that night and get answers for Jordan’s loved ones.”
