Here are 17 people jailed for crimes in and around Sunderland during January.
They all pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court unless otherwise stated.

5. Corrie Talbot
Talbot, 21, of no fixed address but formerly from Sunderland, was jailed for two years and told he must register as a sex offender for ten years for sexual assault, harassment and six offences of malicious communication Photo: NOP
Bezuidenhout, 34, of no fixed address but formerly from Sunderland, was jailed for three years in December. He was back at Newcastle Crown Court to be sentenced for a burglary he committed in April 20, for which he was sentenced to an extra seven-and-a-half months behind bars Photo: NOP

Gibson, 50, of Hasting Street, Sunderland, was jailed for three years and two months and ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life and abide by a sexual harm prevention order for ten years for attempting to cause a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause a child under 13 to watch a sexual act.
