Police appeal after arson attack on East Durham business

Police have appealed for help after a suspected arson attack on a business in East Durham.

Durham Constabulary detectives are asking anyone with dashcam footage to come forward after a suspected arson at a unit on the Shotton Industrial Estate.

The incident occurred on Monday night, October 5, shortly after before 8pm.

It is believed the suspects drove up to the rear of Peterlee Recovery, in Mill Hill, in a black Jeep Cherokee, at which point the car’s passenger threw an unknown object into the window which set the building alight.

Officers are now keen to identify the driver and passenger of the vehicle involved.

Anyone with information or who believes they were in the vicinity of Mill Hill, Davy Drive or Lowhills Road between 6.30pm and 8pm on Monday evening and might have dashcam footage that could assist the investigation should contact PCSO Hubbard on 101 or e-mail [email protected], quoting crime reference number CRI00296238.
